Hell of the Ashdown

The ‘Hell of the Ashdown’ is probably the biggest and most well known Cycle Sportive in the South of England. This is a very complex project and required a lot of planning. Some 1500 riders enter and pay for the event in advance over a 48 hr period, the site has to take the money, allocate start times, arrange for the timing chip (along with a whole load of other items) to be sent to the entrants prior to the event. On the day of the event all finishing times have to be available from timing mats set out along the route at feeding stations and also sent to all entrants phones with their completed times. As part of the event, we produce Press Advertising, Social Media, Online EBlasts sent direct the entrants, all signage for the route and feed stations……in fact why not throw the kitchen sink in as well!

Post Lockdown: The Catford CC decided the event was too big for them to run and handed the event over to Flamme Rouge, who in turn approached Yellow Jersey to assist them in getting the event up and running again, we produced a new website embracing the old feeling of the ‘Devil’ and helped in producing many items to help the event run proficiently. For the 2023 event we made further improvements, improving the on-line payment method to enable payment by Credit Card, bookable parking spaces etc!
